An avid cricket player who is the founder member of TCC and continues to contribute both on & off the field. An all- rounder who opens the innings and also bowls off spin. He has led TCC for the initial years from 2010 till 2013 and is the member of the TCC Exec.

Name: Ahmad Malik

Alias: Kaptaan

A seasoned Risk Management professional having worked in Europe and the middle east with an undying passion for the game to end all games, Cricket. One of the founder members of the club in 2010 and currently the club captain. Started life out as a fast bowler, and now a hard hitting middle order batsman…with a view if you want to run…join a track and field team. Ahmad is also on the Management Committee of the Dubai Super League.

Partner at the global immigration firm, Fragomen Worldwide and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He is based out of Dubai since 2006. One of the founding members and part of the Management Committee. A passionate cricketer who has played from school corridors to the roughed up pitches of model town (Lahore), the lack of proper equipment and facilities was never a deterrent to playing cricket. Murtaza believes that the spirit and ethos of TCC is the prime reason behind its success. ‘We believe in playing competitive cricket to win, but the principles of fair play and respect of others take precedence.’ Murtaza is also a loyal customer of Careem and strongly prefers it over any other ride booking or car / taxi services. He is known to question people on ‘Where there is Careem, why use Uber?’ and looks forward to becoming an active promoter and vocal advocate of Careem.

Currently the Group Chief Financial Officer of the Mattex Group, a leading global polymer-based, synthetic materials group.  Suhail is passionate about cricket and was a founding member of TCC.  He was vice captain of the club between 2011 and 2013 and is a member of the TCC Exec.

A seasoned banking professional with over 20 years of experience working in Canada, US, Pakistan and UAE. One of the founding members of club who has come back to join the club after moving back to Dubai in 2015 from Toronto. Bowling all rounder and middle order batsman who plays for the teams success. Captain of 2nd TCC team for year 2017 – 2018.

He is the head of du University – Leadership and Management Development who interacts with high profile individuals on a daily basis. A passionate left handed batsman and left arm medium pace bowler who has played cricket at amateur and semi-pro level. He has represented several clubs such as Uxbridge CC, Teddington CC, British Airways, Du telecom and last but not the least TCC.

Owais’ passion is to score runs and contribute in team’s performance by batting sensibly, fielding with passion and bowling when required. He has been playing cricket for different clubs in UAE for more than 15 years with great success. Professionally, he loves Digital and have been leading in Digital Marketing, Experience and Analytics roles and has served Adidas, Snickers, Emirates, Jumeirah, and others while working in BBDO digital Advertising and performance agency. Currently, leading du Digital Marketing team and helping du to embrace the new way of working by transforming it to a Digital operator. The unique thing about TCC is that it is just not a regular cricket club, it’s a family cricket club. Which means you make friends here which will last long

Currently a Partner at Redknee Inc, a Canadian firm, that is a global market leader in the real-time Charging, Billing and Customer Care space. One of the founder members of TCC, who played with TCC for 7 seasons, and was part of the TCC Exec as well as the Selection Committee. He led the TCC pace attack for the first few seasons, and was usually padded up as “next man in”, in majority of TCC victories … J Aamir has recently relocated to Toronto, Canada.

Name: Syed Shameel Naqvi

Alias: Shameel

Shameel is a procurement professional and currently heading Procurement of EEMEA Region for British American Tobacco in UK. He is based out of Southampton and is one of the founding members of TCC. Shameel is a qualified ECB Cricket Coach for adults and young children and is playing in Hampshire County with IBM Hursley Cricket Club. He is an attaching middle order batsmen and medium pacer who lead the TCC pace attach for the first few seasons with Aamir.

Name: Imran Qureshi

Professional Accountant with 21 years of accounting, finance & controlling background mostly in telco space. Been with the club for 6 years and holding the responsibility of Club Treasurer. Cricket is not a sport it is a passion which has made my 7 odd years in Dubai a memorable time. Try to open for the club and always bat with an ambition to get off to a flying start. Father of a son who not only plays but captains his school side.

Trading manager overseeing Cargill’s Trade & Structure Finance (TSF) business activities in the Middle East. Ali joined Cargill in 2006 as a Management Associate in the Strategy & Business Development Unit in Singapore.

Name: Amjad Khan

Kashmiri born former American cricketer, Amjad is a right-handed batsman. He made his first-class debut for Jammu and Kashmir in the 1988/89 Ranji Trophy season against Delhi. In 1990, he left Kashmir for the USA. Amjad represented and captained the USA national cricket team. He holds the record for the highest individual score in North America, amassing 304 not out in a 45-over game. Over the last 11 years, Amjad has been with Microsoft, currently serving as a Director of Partner development across Middle East and Africa.

Abdullah is originally from Pakistan who moved to UAE a decade ago, right after he graduated from Canada. Cricket has always been his passion ever since he was a child. He played for divisions like U-12 Lahore (Pakistan), U-16 Punjab (Pakistan), U-19 West Zone competition (Pakistan), Southern Ontario cricket league (Canada) and DSL (UAE). A proud member of the TCC who believes this club operates on the basis of equality, morality and ethics.

Ali works for The Elite Cars as a Sales Executive selling luxury cars. He started playing cricket from his school time and was also the captain of his college cricket team. He moved to England in 2004 where he played for Norwich and Coltishall Wanderers Club. Later in 2011, he moved back to Pakistan and played for one of the local club in Abbottabad. He joined TCC in 2015 and I am member of this club since then. He is a very passionate about cricket who always strives to improve my game.

Moved from Pakistan to UAE in 2006 and is currently working with FRAGOMEN as Immigration Coordinator. He joined TCC in 2011 as an all rounder and have been a member since then. He believes TCC is more of a family that a cricket club to him. He is a right handed batsman and a right arm spinner. He is one of the rare cricketing species who loves fielding and can be handful from any fielding position.

An accountant by profession, an aspiring film maker and a sport fanatic by passion. A gifted bowling all rounder (allegedly) who can hit the ball big, is the newest recruit to the TCC family and is looking to take the DSL by storm.

Working as a sales and marketing professional in Al Futtaim Group since 2011, overseeing Microsoft Xbox and Nokia distribution business across the retail. His passion for sports and especially cricket developed ever since he was a child. Being a talented sportsman, he was the captain of school, college and university cricket team and have also been honored with the college color in cricket and university roll of honor in sports. Syed, an aggressive right handed batsman and a fierce right arm fast bowler who has represented Al Futtaim Cricket Club and is currently an active member of The Cricketers Club(TCC)

Bilal has a passion for cricket since his teenage years. Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, Bilal grew up in Saudi Arabia – from where he represented the Saudi National U17 team as a Captain in the Asia Cup in 2000, attended 3 PCB U19 academies and attended the MRF pace foundation academy with Dennis Lillee in Chennai. He completed his Bachelors from AUS in Sharjah and MBA from AIU-London, where he actively participated in local club cricket as well. He currently works as a Presales Manager for Shift Technologies-AWRostamani Group.

He is working as a  Senior manager in Internal Audit Du and comes from Rawalpindi ,Pakistan. A passionate right handed batsman and fast bowler and has played cricket at amateur and semi-pro level. He has represented several clubs such as Lahore Lions (KSA), Dubai Stallions, Ocean Fair international, Du Telecom and has recently joined TCC. In the recently concluded DSL (Dubai Super league) 2016/2017  he was ranked the 4th as a Most valuable Player(MVP).

Currently working for a multinational in a cross regional role, he is a chartered accountant with over 8 years of experience in industry. Cricket is the passion for life for most of Pakistanis, and the case is no different for this gentleman. He plays as an all rounder for TCC since 2014. He is hard hitting batsman in the middle order and takes care of off spin in bowling department.

Joined P&G 12 years ago and has been there ever since. He was always more interested in sports than studies. Whether it be Basketball, Hockey, Volleyball or Cricket, he could always be found on the sports field.

Hasan is an avid cricket lover who has been in the UAE since February 2009.  His duties as CFO / COO of Omnix International range from financial management of the company, overseeing all operational activities, to setting strategic direction of the company and devising growth strategies.  Hasan likes to think that he can bowl as well as bat at any place the team needs him to.  Hasan has played cricket for clubs in the UAE, US and Pakistan.

An ardent sports fan, Shariq finds cricket field the place to exhibit his prowess as a sportsmen. Eager to take up the challenge and bewilder the batsmen in DSL with his gambit of swing bowling.

An accountant by profession currently working with PETRONAS as a Senior Executive Finance & Accounting. He joined TCC in 2015/2016 season. Cricket is everything for him. Passion is an undermining word for his love and enthusiasm to cricket. Being an active and talented sportsman he was always a part of school, College and office Cricket teams, also played club level cricket in Islamabad. He is a bowling all-rounder who can bat down the order. Bowls right arm medium fast. TCC is not only a cricket club for him. TCC is a family for him with whom he can enjoy all the happiness and joys of life.  An active user of Careem in Pakistan.

An aspiring Brian Laraesque batsman and Wasim Akramesque bowler, Farjad is the quintessential wicket-keeper batsman of TCC. After plying his trade across various corporate and varsity teams over his vast cricket career, he now represents TCC behind the stumps and in batsmen ear diligently. Elsewhere in life, after graduating as an MBA from INSEAD, Farjad now works as a Senior Investment Products Manager for Dubai Islamic Bank

Ahmed is a management consultant with over 6 years experience at Booz & Company (now called Strategy&), and holds an MBA from London Business School. Over the past few years, Ahmed captained both the Booz & Co. and London Business School Cricket teams, but has now become a full-time member of TCC. Ahmed is a hard hitting middle-order order batsmen who doesn’t believe in having a strike rate below 200. He also who also bowls a bit of off-spin in the middle overs.

A seasoned cricketer who started playing club cricket at the age of 8. Over 8 years of client relationship management experience in England and Middle East. Currently residing in the US and still part of the TCC Exec Committee, because you may take the man out of the TCC but never the TCC out of a man! Last year’s Vice Captain and been associated with the club for over 5 years and many more years to come

From the streets of Karachi hails Dawoodji whose deadliest weapon on the cricket field is the loud piercing blare of his cheers. Omeir is currently working for P&G on an assignment in Singapore for the past year as a Senior Communications Manager. However, his heart is in Dubai with is TCC family – actively engaged in the club, Omeir is ready to take a flight to Dubai in a heartbeat to contribute in what ever way possible; not just because he loves the game but because he enjoys the friendships he has garnered on the field. He is a fast bowler and probably the only member in the team who calls out that he is not an allrounder.

What I am is an accomplishment but what drives me is what I want to be and I want to raise my kids as good Muslims and considerate human beings. I love spending time with my family and friends. Over the past seven years, TCC has become more of a family than friends and that’s why the time spent here is amazing.I wanted to play every sports that is being played in Pakistan and to be good at all. I achieved the first part (even traveled extreme north for skiing) but not the second so the phrase ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ best defines me. In cricket I am also the jack means I am a reasonably good all-rounder.To earn my living, I play(ed) with the numbers and convert the short term/long term strategy and ambitions into doable plans that help the management and shareholders in setting the direction of the Company I am/was associated with (du, Mobilink, Ufone).

He represented as key member of his school, College and office Cricket teams, also played many seasons of cricket leagues in Islamabad. He is a middle order batsman and part time wicket keeper and right arm spin bowler.

A fighter pilot in Pakistan Air Force for about 18 years, I am now a Captain in Emirates Airlines since 2010. Whereas flying has been my professional sport, it is cricket that runs in my veins. After playing school cricket in ancient times, I represented Airforce in inter services for a few seasons. After a long lay off where the only active cricket was on xbox, I restarted cricket in Dubai playing for Stallions for one season and now very excited to be part of TCC family

Abdullah is from Rawalpindi and working for Emirates Airlines as a Pilot , since 2010.Previously worked for PIA and Caltex Oil Pvt Limited. Abdullah was a member of the school and university cricket teams and for Caltex and PALPA (Pakistan Airlines Pilots Association) as well. By temperament, he is an Opening Batsman and used to bowl Right Arm Leg Spin, before age and shoulder injury caught up with him. He enjoys fielding as well and can be a willing 12th man.
